Bike Friendly Cafe - Breedon on the Hill

An Email Sent Out To Local Cycle Clubs

I'm an ex 'bikey' with Loughborough CTC & Phoenix.  My girlfriend runs a cafe called 'Beths Kitchen' on the Derbyshire/Notts/Leics border at 'Breedon On The Hill Priory' which I'm involved in.  I'm trying to spread the word amongst the local cycling community that there is a 'bike friendly' place for everyone to come. (For those who do not know about us already).

It has good a covered outdoor area where you can see your bikes and good toilet facilities. I just remember on club runs and training rides being told we were not welcome at some venues and it still grates! Therefore I want to spread the word that we welcome cyclists. Nothing would give me more pleasure than seeing it full of cyclists all through the year! (We've recently had groups from Melton Olympic and Derby Mercury amongst others).

I'm about to buy a few running spares for everyone, cables, allen keys, tubes, tyre levers etc and bring in my track pump! (Any old tools not needed will be gratefully received and put into a designated tool box.) I'm looking at putting in some hooks and locks so that bikes can be secured if you want to explore other shops around the site.

If some of you are some distance away there is a big car park here and it's free if you 'fancy motor assisted' & different route with a start/end point!

Our website is

www.bethskitchenuk.com

Could you please forward the email around your members and spread the word about what I'm trying to do on relevant sites, forums (etc) as there were a few clubs with no contact details/email.

In the meantime safe riding and hope to see you soon for a cuppa and a bite to eat! (Award winning Cookery & the 'Millionaires bar' is a bikey favourite!).

Kind Regards
Jez Broster

PS. I think I better build up my hack bike for the winter and come out with some of you!
